Its a Wonder, Its a New Week.

AirKlip has a great team behind it. This team is more than a basic “let’s work” team. We learn, live and learn. Better yet, we help out where we can and always we can help out. This week we all had something wonderful to say to cap a befitting weekend. This week features an array of wisdom ridden quotes and inspirational moments from everyone in the team. Hope that you will find something to help you for this wonderful week.

Moses
Moses had more to think about in the weekend. He learnt a lot and some of the insights he gave were impeccable. He had meaningful conversation with his brain on how to set up his life. He gave out a pointer that we should always have a cost of input of our everyday work. This means that we should quantify our work and add value to it and this will help in tracking our goals and achievements.

He added that we need to pull people up and not let ourselves pull others down by showing our responsibility. Moses said, “Say what you can do and be held accountable for it, and say what you can’t to be free of any blame.” He insisted in being good custodians of our friends which was humbly accepted by the team.

Julius
Typical weekend for him. He had a chill weekend where he just relaxed and enjoyed the free days he had. He always appreciates the lessons he learns from the experiences of friends because at times it is better to learn from someone than learning from experience. He discovered that there was no perfect moment to face your fears. Julius adds that, “it is not how much time you put in preparation that matters rather the effort you put.”

He added that in the Gulf region, people worked in the night utilizing the 12 hours since it is quite unsafe to work during the day because of the immense heat and winds. He encouraged the team to always have control of what we say. From experience, he boarded a boat in Lake Victoria after constantly asking for the life jackets. The boat man said, “Omera just get into the boat and I will give you the jackets (definitely paraphrased since I cannot pull off the Dholuo rich accent).” They got in and were told that they need not the jackets since he was going to save them, if they ever needed it. This is the power that others have in convincing you when you have doubt.

Onesmus
If Julius had not spoken enough about the power of words, then Onesmus must have capped it off in the nicest of ways. He had visited a dowry payment exercise of his cousin and enjoyed the ordeal right from the choosing of brides. He must have been elated from the way he talked. He advised on the need for starting things right. “Do it right the first time” is his mantra. He added on the importance of words in our lives.

Onesmus says, “Your future is in the power of your words.” This team is a group of wise men to say the very least. Onesmus also advised that challenges always come in life but what you do when something happens to you is the important part. Do you cry or do you man up and face it head on?

Brian
The guy with a past, present and future decided to leave out his past and not tell us of what he experience over the weekend. So when he talks of the challenges, he smirks and laughs it off saying “yeah, that’s life!” Glad he was saying that so many had hoped to see the light of this day but God had different plans for them. He was grateful that we all had a chance to see this day and we should have a reason to share some love.
A little spiritual he got saying, “God does not give you a script every morning to act out, He gives you an empty script and lets you fill it out.” Adding to almost an epic showdown of wisdom he says, “Some of the nicest people are in tattoos and some of the most judgmental people go to church with you.” This was a lesson that we need to be careful with who we deal with. Brian suggested to the team that we needed to always feel that something good is about to happen and live in the moment whilst doing our best not forgetting to appreciate the people in your life.

For such heavy words from the team, I would expect a fruitful week ahead that is full of accomplishments, achievements and learning. Our motto for this week would therefore have to be, “Your future is in the power of your words” and acclaimed by Onesmus. Catch the next series of our updates and stay in touch. Great week ahead.

8 Simple Ways To Classroom Collaboration

The Collaborative Classroom is a model that honors all teachers and supports all students with intentional, field-tested practices that create safe environments. In Collaborative Classrooms, teachers facilitate an authentic exchange of ideas and children learn to become caring, principled people as well as thoughtful, disciplined learners. Teachers who use the Collaborative Classroom model make an intentional shift from having a classroom where they do the majority of the talking to constructing a learning situation and then facilitating it through student thinking and talking. Teachers are increasingly using digital tools to stay ahead of today’s digitally literate students. Here are eight ways they’re harnessing technology for collaborating with students, both in the classroom and online: 1. Digital Projectors – A LCD projector allows teachers to share digital content with students. The beauty of the digital projector is its versatility—it works with any digital ...

Time flies and welcomes exams.

If ever there was a time to realize that time flies, it’s now. Well, the stores are not doing any of us favor when they brand their polyethene bags with Christmas trees or the mall putting up Christmas lights. Yes, the year is almost coming to a close and this is the only time we can realize that time flies. In January, we were all wondering how the year will punch us right back. Remember trying to come up with some list of things we’d like to change. How many have we achieved so far? Time is given in equal measure and quantity. If ever there was a gift more powerful than time, then all would be in vain. Many sayings have been coined with time. “Time is money”, “give time time”, “time waits for no man” and so many more. They all mean the same. That time is a very important aspect of life and we really need to understand this. In all its measure and wonder, we are still yet to fathom its meaning let alone its discipline. Philosophy aside, this post was dedicated to the ...
